Stocking stuffers can be a challenging gift category- they need to be small but not $$$; they need to be useful and not add clutter or junk to your home.  In my past experiences, I invested a lot of time finding the right gifts and then would find myself scrambling to find a few items that didn’t break the budget to stuff those stockings on our mantle.

If you too wear the ‘stocking stuffer’ hat in your family, here are a few of my favorite small but practical gifts to fill your stockings (many of these would also be perfect small gifts for friends or additions to gift baskets).  And don’t forget your stocking too- if no one else is going to fill your stocking, please don’t leave yours empty.  Grab a few small gifts for yourself that you know you are going to love.

The list below is a mixture of stocking stuffers for adults and kids, guys and gals.  Happy stuffing!

Stocking Stuffers for Adults and Kids

1. Kids Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Bit by bit I am trying to replace our plastic containers with metal or glass.  This water bottle is the perfect size for my elementary aged kids and they love the handle/wrist strap as well.

2. Lip Crayon

This is a creamy, moisturizing lip crayon that glides on smoothly.  I recently purchased the Outback Oasis color and it is the perfect pink nude color.  (Personally I wear it with a lip liner.) The description calls it ‘shiny’ but I would say the texture is in-between matte and shiny.  This would be a great stocking stuffer, especially for a teen or young adult that likes to have a little color on her lips.  This is my all-tip favorite lip gloss (color: Afterglow) if you prefer shiny and this is the current lip liner I am loving in color mauve.

3. Rattan Boho Earrings

If anyone you know loves big, fun, funky earrings, this is the perfect gift!  These are lightweight and have held up very well!  I wear the gold teardrop earrings at least 4 days a week.  They come in a 4 pack so this is also a great gift to break apart into smaller gifts or gift baskets for friends or co-workers.

4. Sugar Scrub

Love this sugar scrub!  It’s the perfect gift for a friend or co-worker, but it would also fit perfectly in a stocking!  We generally avoid fragrance but if you prefer there are some scented versions too.

5. Rechargeable LED Reading Light

Each of my girls has one of these that she clamps on to a book or her bed and uses for reading at night.  They use them EVERY SINGLE DAY and have been thrown on the ground, probably stepped on many times and yet, these lights have withstood the destruction and keep on shining.  The bendable neck of the lamp makes it so easy to direct the light exactly where you want it.  Highly recommend!

6. Travel Pillow

Getting comfy on a plane or in the car often feels impossible.  We own this travel pillow and have given it as a gift too!  It wraps up into a small case that will attach to your carry-on luggage so you can easily grab it once you get on the plane or pop your luggage into the trunk.  We are considering getting travel pillows for our girls this year in anticipation of a long flight for an upcoming trip this summer.

7. Universal Socket Tool

One tool to replace a whole set…literally.  If you have a dude or gal who loves gadgets, wants to simplify their tools or just loves a clever thing-a-ma-jig, this is a great gift (or stocking stuffer or friend gift).  This budget friendly universal socket has almost 18,000, four and a half star reviews, so there are a few others that like it too.

8. Colorful Mini Tongs

Somehow, these colorful tongs make serving food a little more fun and interesting.  I can say for sure that foods have ended up on my kids plate and in their mouth just because they were excited to use a fun serving utensil.

9. Fleece Lined Chunky Knit Beanie

Cute and classic, I adore this hat for it’s simplicity & functionality.

10. Triangle Stud Earrings

These were a gift to a college student and she loved them. They are simple with a modern twist.

11. Breaking Free From Body Shame

This is THE book that I want every friend, every client, every woman I know to read.

12. Acacia Salt & Pepper Bowl with Swivel Magnetic Lid

This is a beautiful countertop container and also very practical.  If you prefer a separate container for both salt and pepper these would be stunning too.

13. Primally Pure Dry Shampoo

In the last few years I have been swapping out some of my hair, make-up and skincare products for those with ingredients that are better for you.  It’s been a slow process and not everything with ‘cleaner’ ingredients is effective or what I am looking for.  In my goal to find a new dry shampoo, this is THE ONE that I love (it comes in 2 color options depending on hair color).  There is definitely a learning curve in using a powdered dry shampoo in a shaker bottle but it gets a little easier each time.

14. Custom Ornament

What is a memory you don’t want to forget this year?  Find a photo and create a custom ornament for a family member or friend so that each year you can remember and reminisce.  Etsy also has some amazing small businesses that create custom ornaments as well!

15. Brain Teaser Puzzles

These are such a fun stocking stuffer or small gift for kids, teens or adults!  They are specifically created to test your brain and practice focus and concentration.  Once you solve the puzzle, you can put them back together and pass along to the next person to figure out.  The puzzles come with instructions if you need help and a storage bag.

16. Chopsticks

One way to make mealtime a little more fun is having interesting eating and serving utensils to use.  These are also a tool that can teach hand-eye coordination skills.  Look up a mini tutorial online and set a family goal in 2024 learn how to use chopsticks together (you may want to start by practicing with popcorn).

17. Unseen Sunscreen

Stock your teen or skincare fanatic’s stocking with some quality skincare products like this sunscreen.  I previously used the Supergoop Glow Screen but after trying a sample of their Unseen Sunscreen I decided I like that one even more.  As someone who has combination skin that can get oily later into the day I notice when products contribute to that or not.  The Unseen Sunscreen is my preferred option to keep my skin protected without causing excessive oil production or breakouts.

18. Stainless Steel Ice Cubes

If you have a whisky lover in your family or someone who loves cold beverages but doesn’t like them watered down, this is a great stocking stuffer to gift.  Just throw them into the freezer and then place them in your glass before you pour.  They work very well and are easy to clean.
