Do you find that you have made you list, checked it twice, and then realize you don’t have anything to fill the stockings?! (Hand raised!) Here are a few of my favorite nutrition and wellness stocking stuffers for both kids and adults that are small-ish, reasonably priced and have a humorous or practical connection to food and taking care of our body.
Nutrition and Wellness Stocking Stuffers for Kids
1. Kitchen Explorers by America’s Test Kitchen
America’s Test Kitchen is well respected in our home and I am frequently looking up their reviews and learning from their methods. This new book is ALL for kids, teaching them the science as they make yummy recipes.
2. Table Topics for Kids
Start interesting, funny and thought-provoking conversations with your kids at the table using these table topic cards. This is a great way to promote better connection at the dinner table and teach your kids a few things about engaging in conversation. These questions are also sure to promote some great laughs and funny stories! Table Topics also has other versions of these cards including:
*They also have boxed sets for holiday, couples, teens and family!
3. Collapsible Silicone Popcorn Popping Bowl
Make popcorn with the ingredients you want and nothing more. And it collapses down to take up less space… need I say more?! You can always add in a popcorn flavoring. Currently our family favorite is the Trader Joe’s Cheesy Seasoning!
4. Kid’s Cooking Apron
Every mini sous chef needs an apron for helping in the kitchen! I find that an adjustable neck is helpful to getting just the right fit.
While you could buy one like this (or this adorable blueberry apron or this cute avocado apron) with a fun print, I often buy these colored ones for my kids cooking & food science camp and then the kids use acrylic paint to create a one-of-a kind art piece that they get to wear every time they cook. It’s a twofer- a practical gift + art project!
5. Reusable Silicone Baking Cups
My kids LOVE these colorful baking cups. And they are especially helpful when you have kiddos helping with a recipe because they can choose a color that they can fill and then when it’s time to eat, they know exactly which ones they ‘helped’ with.
6. No Tangles Brush
Tangles… can lead to tears! I am very aware as I have 2 young daughters with long hair. This detangling brush has almost 70,000 five star reviews!
7. Mini Whisk
These are great for little hands! Most regular utensils aren’t made for small hands so having a few of these ‘mini’ utensils in your kitchen is a great way to make it a little easier for them to come alongside you.
8. Sushi Go Card Game
It sounds weird, but sometimes that is exactly the thing to create curiosity, get kids laughing and make some fun memories!
Nutrition and Wellness Stocking Stuffers for Adults
I use gloves almost every time I workout and most definitely every time I lift weights. These help provide grip and reduce the occurrence of blisters. For me, these are a “must have.” AND, you can wash them in cold water (line dry) when they need refreshing.
2. Champagne/Sparkling Wine Sealer
This is a fun gift for your friends & family members who enjoy the bubbles!
3. Digital Instant Read Thermometer
This is the exact one I have. I use it ALL THE TIME. This is why we rarely have dry chicken for dinner or overcooked steaks or undercooked turkey. And it’s a great tool for teaching kids too!
4. Spoon Rest
Simple, functional, beautiful. This ceramic one is beautiful too!
5. Fun Food Socks
My husband loves to wear these because it usually makes his patients chuckle when he sits down on a stool and his socks peek out during an office visit. There is something magical about wearing a fun pair of socks. It can put a smile on a grumpy face, break the ice, lighten a heavy mood and add a bit of whimsy to your day. Grab some for your favorite, fun female or the dude in your life (or put some in gift exchange for a fun laugh).
6. Finishing Salt
For the cook who is always looking to impress, amp up flavor or add a gourmet flare to a dish!
7. Gentle Exfoliating Gloves
Maybe this gift is a little outside-of-the-box, but these exfoliating gloves are great for helping with dry skin through the winter months.
8. Flavored Vinegars
Flavored vinegars are the BEST for drizzling over salad greens, roasted veggies and even roasted or grilled meats. My kids (that’s not a typo) and I adore trying out different flavors (sometimes with a lemon flavored olive oil). You can get a single container or a 4-pack for gift giving.
9. Over-the-Sink Dish Drying Rack
This is so very clever! An easy way to air dry dishes… and when you are done, roll it up and put it away! You can order different sizes to ensure it fits the sink perfectly.
10. Ring Holder
After loosing my wedding ring once when I took it off to do the dishes (thankfully it was found a few days later!!) I will ONLY put my ring in our ring dish when doing dishes. You can get a traditional holder with a prong up the middle OR a ring dish. I also love this white ceramic one and this marble ring dish.
11. Exfoliating Sugar Scrub
The Lotion Company is a small business out of Indiana that uses a handful of quality ingredients (no fragrances and no parabens or petroleum-based ingredients) to make their products. This sugar scrub is perfect to get rid of dry skin, moisturize and protect you skin through dry, winter months.
12. Milk Frother with Stand
There are some of us who love fancy coffee but don’t love paying for it every morning. This milk frother is inexpensive but works (and makes you feel a little bit bougie). Note- everyone spills a little the first time or two when using it but don’t give up because you are going to fall back in love with your ‘gourmet-like’ coffee from home.
